Emattress.com is going green with memory foam mattresses

|

Emattress.com is helping to find a way to divert a substantial portion of the more than 63,700 mattresses that are deposited in the area's landfills each year. Each mattress takes up to 23 cubic feet of landfill space and is the number one item responsible for our landfills filling to over capacity.

Here's something to sleep on tonight: In just one day at a local landfill, more than 300 old mattresses and box springs arrive for burial. If you laid them out end-to end, they would stretch more than a third of a mile. And that's just from one day. Local governments have to spend more money to deal with mattresses than other types of garbage; we all pay for those extra costs.

Why should you care?
| Because, as sleepers, we all contribute to this disposal problem.
According to American Demographics, over the next 20 years recycling is going to become one of the most important issues for consumers, and a new population boom in the United States will put a strain on our natural resources. Many communities are no longer accepting used mattresses in landfills, or are charging large fees for disposal. |

HOW WILL EMATTRESS.COM HELP?
www.emattress.com will take back any memory foam mattress purchased from us. The mattress core which is made entirely of foam, will then be sent to specialty foam recycling facility to be recycled and diverted from the land fill. Any memory foam mattress purchased from emattress.com is eligible for recycling.

We will also continue to use natural mattress covers like our 100% natural virgin Australian wool and our Innofa material, both of which have anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-dust mite properties. Our Innofa material contains yarn derived from natural bamboo.
