Moisture, Wool and Sleep...During sleep, you lose between one pint of water through breathing and evaporatoin from your skin. Since your skin is your largest organ, most of your fluid loss is through your skin. Have you ever felt thirsty in the morning or even during the night or awakened with a dry parched throat? If you have, then it is easy for you to relate to the loss of body water during the night. If you are too hot in bed you actually sweat, then your water losses can be much greater than one-quart.
Arthritis...Arthritic pain can be increased by changes in temperature and humidity. It is no wonder that dry, warm places like Arizona are such retirement havens. It's not to just enjoy the nice weather in the winter without snow, it is for their arthritis. Since wool keeps the bed temperature and humidity stable, arthritic pain is reduced during sleep with wool bedding while other fabrics can increase arthritic symptoms.
Non Allergenic... Many people think they are allergic to wool or have been told they are allergic to wool. There is a such thing as a wool allergy, although is is extremely rare. If you are allergic to wool then you have to be allergic to your own hair and finger nails because it is made of exactly the same protein called Keratin.
Features... Wool fibers are covered with tiny scales which repel liquids while the wool fiber core is highly absorbant, having the ability to take in as much as 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet.
The wool draws persperation away from your body, preventing you from feeling clammy during the summer while helping to hold in heat during the winter.
Benefits... By keeping you dry, receive the highest quality of sleep possible. Keeps you feeling cool and dry in the summer, and warm and dry in the winter.
